Pilot Salary-
As
a new regional co-pilot or 1st
officer you can typically earn a decent hourly wage of around $20+
per hour, with regional airline captains making anywhere from
$50-$100+ per hour. Depending on the airline and how many years the
pilot has been working with the same airline will ultimately
determine the pilots wages and benefits.
Airline
Transport Pilot Salary-
When
you first become an airline transport pilot with a major airline you
start at the bottom of the “ranks”. Meaning, you are a new
employee and have to start earning your keep with your new co-workers
and bosses, while exemplifying your professional skills as a pilot.
Qualified
ATP pilots can earn a substantial salary for the amount of demand,
risk, and responsibility that coincide with an airline transport
pilot career. Most ATP pilots do not start making the “big bucks”
($100,000-$200,000+ yearly) until after 5-10+ years working with the
same major airline.
